14-Year-Olds Missing On Rail Trail Found: PA State Police

Akyra Cooke and Charlie Kitts were both "just located safely and are being returned home," Trooper James Groothey told Daily Voice in an email around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. 

Additional information was not released. 

ORIGINAL:

Two 14-year-olds have gone missing and they were last known to "utilize the Rail Trail while traveling about the area," Pennsylvania State Police announced on June 21, 2023. 

Akyra Cooke of Seven Valleys, and Charlie Kitts of New Freedom, are believed to have used the Heritage Rail Trail after leaving Akyra's home on Church Street around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Trooper James Grothey explained in the release. 

Additional information or a description of the young teens was not shared.
